AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) is a group of autonomous public medical institutions in India declared as Institutes of National Importance by an Act of Parliament. Established to provide high-quality medical education and patient care, the first AIIMS was founded in New Delhi in 1956. AIIMS offers a range of medical and nursing courses, conducts extensive research, and runs hospitals with comprehensive facilities for patient care, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Status: Declared an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
